Bio
RAY MONTANA
“I’m here to stay and trust me….the best is yet to come.”
Everyone has a dream, but not everyone’s dream leads to a legacy. Ray
Montana grew up on the gritty streets of Queens, New York and from a young
age it was clear to everyone around him that he was something special. Ray
found refuge from the streets in the harmonious and hypnotizing beats of
hip-hop. He studied artists like Big Pun, LL Cool J, and Tupac, and
quickly developed an undeniable style that was all his own. Infused with
enormous talent, Ray set his sights on the entertainment world, but it
wasn’t enough to be just another hip-hop artist. In a world filled with
artists mostly of African American decent, not only did Ray strive to be
the best hip-hop artist, but the best Latin hip-hop artist. Now that Ray
had a goal, it was time for him to put it into action and there was going
to be no stopping him!
With only one friend out on the West coast, Ray Montana packed his bags,
said goodbye to everything and everyone he knew and traveled to Los Angeles
with one goal in mind “To become California’s first positive male Latin
hip-hop superstar.” With no support from family and only a couch to rest
his head on at night, Ray set out to show the world that not every Latin
artist in California is a gangster or Chulo rapper. He was determined to
do for Los Angeles, what Pitbull had done for Miami and Fat Joe had done
for New York…..put it on the map. Since arriving in Los Angeles, he has
proven he is well on his way to doing just that.
During his short time in the city, Ray Montana has become a household name.
From free-styling with fellow West coast rapper The Game, to recording
intros for both KJLH 102.3FM’s Nautica De L Cruz and Latino96 96.3FM’s
Raq-C and performing at various venues around the city such as Hermosa
Beach’s Zen Lounge, Ray Montana definitely has made his presence felt.
His buzz around town is so strong that not only has he been given the seal
of approval from The Legendary Russ Regan, former President of Uni Records
and 20th Century Records, but he has also been able to work with Grammy
Award Winning Engineer Mark Vinten (Usher, Ludacris, 50 Cent, Lil John) and
recently completed his album with JAMROCK Productions producer Troy
“ROC” Peebles.
With such an amazing start to his career it is clear that Ray Montana is a
force to be reckoned with. With his myriad of talents, drive and innate
determination to succeed, it won’t be long before radios all over the
world are playing his songs. Ray Montana is here to stay…stay tuned, the
best is yet to come!
